The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association will recognize Deb Loughlin with the Crystal Heart Award at the Vermont Go Red For Women Luncheon on Feb. 1, 2018 in South Burlington, VT.

The Crystal Heart Award celebrates the success and commitment of a local woman who has served as an advocate, a volunteer and a role model in improving the health of women in her community. It also honors an individual who has gone above and beyond in supporting the mission of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and has been committed to helping the organization save lives.
Deb is a current member of the Go Red executive leadership team and a past event co-chair (2016, 2017). She has been in the employee benefits industry for 20 years and has held management positions in Vermont businesses for more than 30 years. During this time, she has encouraged and supported employer groups with wellness culture strategies to improve the health of her community in the Burlington area and beyond. She is currently the Executive Director, Employee Benefits Practice, at The Richards Group, where she manages business development and strategy.
“Deb has made a career of taking charge ahead of our peers and is engaged with the community to better the lives of others. This is what the Crystal Heart Award is all about, and she continues to do so each day,” said event co-chair Sydny Spear.
“I started talking to clients about creating wellness platforms almost 20 years ago when it wasn’t at all vogue. They’d mostly look at me like I was a little crazy. It seemed obvious to me that a huge piece of fixing our health care system is a cultural shift, a wellness revolution. Now there are so many tools and supports for every single person to use and an amazing thing is beginning to happen. Now huge numbers of employers in Vermont have some type of support for wellness, and some are really impressive,” said Loughlin. “I’m humbled to be presented the Crystal Heart Award as I have come to know so many who have dedicated their lives to bettering the health right here in our own community and with great success. I’m proud to be part of this movement.”
In addition to the award presentation during the program, the Go Red For Women Luncheon will also include a panel discussion with area health experts, a silent auction, a local woman’s survivor story, networking and a heart-healthy lunch. Registration opens at 8:45 a.m. at the Hotel Burlington and Conference Center in South Burlington, VT.
